Sketches from the Weekend

This past Sunday was a good day of sketching for me. First I went to Orlando Grace Church to sketch the people there. Their pastor gets into some interesting and energetic poses while he speaks. It was also a good chance to work on sketching interiors, an area I need more practice in. Next I went to Lake Lily to do some sketches, but stumbled upon a coin show at the Maitland Civic Center. I checked out some coins and global currency, and then proceeded to do sketch some of the people there. Finally I walked to the edge of Lake Lily, and painted a quick sketch of Rangetsu, a sushi lounge that can be seen from the edge of the park.

Mall

I sketched this on the second floor of the Altamonte Mall. It’s interesting to see how all the shops have very warm lights in them compared to the cooler feel of the rest of the mall’s interior.

Mall Sketches

I got a new noodler’s ahab flex nib fountain pen a few days ago. I tested out the pen last night with some mall sketches. So far the pen writes great with a nice range of line width variance.mall12-29-12_002Faces
